In a unexpected partnership that defies usual expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of banned ceremonies and fearsome changes reverberate through the shadows." The narrative presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.

The mission concentrates on "peculiar tests and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Changes

The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Extra Content

Players who accomplish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana together with several artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Latest Free Story Content

This patch also brings the game's third free story episode, titled "The Enigma."
